When should you install the car seat base?

35 weeks. I have 3 kids in carseats and get mine installed for free by the fire department. While it's true that you'd have to replace it if in an accident, most auto insurance covers the cost. They're trickier to install than they look because they have to be at a certain angle, my fire dept has pool noodles of varying thickness to get the angle right.

Good thing because our daughter was unexpectedly early @35 weeks

We did it around 34-35 weeks in case anything went early. Wishful thinking cus I went to 40 weeks and 2 days lol

When leaving for the hospital. If we were to get in an accident before baby arrived, we would have to replace so we waited.
