Labor Story/Stories
Ok y'all, labor stories if this isn't your first!
My first son I had to be induced at 41 weeks because of my BP being high. My Dr was concerned about preeclampsia. Thankfully I didn't have that problem. Although being induced was HORRIBLE! I had been given cervadil and then when that did nothing I was started on pitocin. The pitocin worked but made labor hurt 10x worse. (And I can say that because my second son I had 100% natural). They had to break my water and found out my son had his first bowl movement in the womb so I had to have a catheter, let me tell you that was aweful and made contractions hurt so much more. I gave in with him and was given pain med in the middle of labor and then after being in labor ALL DAY and being in immense pain (I have a high pain tolerance according to my doctors) I caved and had an epidural. Once I was finally ready to push I had almost no energy which made it hard. I had over an hour of pushing alone! I was in labor all of July 7, my son was finally born July 8 at 1:06am. Perfectly healthy. 7lbs 2oz 19 1/2 inches long.
My second son, as I said I went into labor naturally and had him within 3 hours of being in the hospital. I was having contractions from about 11:30am after my appointment that morning and had things to get around (like my older son taken to my sitter) I walked 90% of my labor with my second and was in the hospital around 3 pm checked in. He was born at 6:01, almost in the hallway it was so fast! They were getting me a L&D room but as soon as I was in the laboring bed my water literally burst like a balloon and my son was born less than 2 pushes later. He was also perfectly healthy at 7lbs 2oz (yes just like his brother) and was 20 1/4inches long
I am now pregnant with baby number 3 (8 weeks 3days) and hope that I can once again go all natural. That's the goal but I am OK if I need med to get through as EVERY pregnancy and delivery are different!
