If that "certain income" is like $150,000 then I think it's pretty shallow but not necessarily "wrong" because everyone can do what they want. If it's like $15,000 I think it's understandable to not want to date someone with little to no income.

I guess it's a little complicated to me. If you don't want to date a man that makes less than a certain amount of money because you make a good amount of money and don't just want to be somebody's meal ticket, that's understandable. If you just don't want to have to work, that's kinda fucked up. Why is it okay to try to force men into the role of provider and breadwinner? Married women are also adults and should expect to share responsibility for their family in one way or another.  For many, it's impractical to expect to be part of a single-income household.

Absolutely not.

I was in line at Chipotle picking up food for my whole family when this guy came up behind me and seriously asked if I could buy him a burrito. It caught me way off guard, but I was polite and said that I was using the money I had to buy food for my family. He said ok but then proceeded to look me down and say "Do you like wine? Maybe we could out for some."

I almost laughed in his face, but I remembered to be polite lol.

Moral of the story: I will not date you if you don't make more than $0.00

It goes both ways, and No its  not wrong.. If I met my husband  now, at his job at 23 (when i actually  met him) I wouldn't  contemplate it.

Bitchy and materialistic maybe, but not necessarily wrong. I personally don't care, I'd love my husband whether he made $7 an hour flipping burgers or $100 billion a year. Some people care more about financial stability though. To each his own I guess. I care more about the relationship and bond between us.

It really depends on the situation. I would be perfectly fine with dating a man who doesn't make a lot of money, he just can't expect me to let him he financially dependent on me. Same goes the other way around.

I don't care. I married an unemployed skater boy in a punk band who got his hearing cut off for non payment and we used the hairdryer to warm up in the winter. Now my husband is providing for me and my son and our two pets while I'm happily at home raising them. We have two cars, lovely house and a comfortable life. You can always make more money, but you can't ever recreate the experiences you could have had with people who might not pass your income screening.
