My baby's pupil is not round

The other day I noticed that my baby's right pupil is not round. It drags down almost to the edge of his iris. I immediately freaked out and called my pediatrician. She saw us today and said that she doesn't think we should be too concerned, but she is sending us to a pediatric opthamologist to be sure. Based on the info I can find online I think it's coloboma? Anyone else familiar with this? I'm glad she's not concerned, but it's still giving me some anxiety.
