What all to pack in hospital bag?

Question

I will be having a planned C- Section in 27 days. I want to be as prepared and comfortable as possible.. So what are needs and then what are things that you didn't necessarily have to have but it made you more comfortable?

Depending on where you live, you may want a mini fan! I had hot flashes so bad and the air conditioner could not go any lower so my mom went to the store to get me a fan. Best thing ever.

After my c-section I lived in yoga pants with a soft fold-over band on the top. It covered the bandages without putting pressure on them. I was glad I had them at the hospital so I could walk around comfortably (I was too hot to wear a robe).

I was also really glad to have a notebook to jot down baby's info. The hospital gave me a chart for nursing but it was not organized well, and I liked having all the info in one place when i took it home.

Pillow, your own blanket, a few nightgowns, pj pants and a maternity shirt to ride home in, a post partum girdle, snacks, diaper bag, slippers, socks, toiletries and makeup, chargers, boppy pillow

Honestly I overpacked! I was naked/in my underwear for most of the stay. I was BF so wearing a top or a johnny bothered me. I also run very warm so I couldn't take it. I used my boppy religiously! I used it to hold when I coughed, when I laughed, and I used it to prop up my arm to help hold the baby. Also, they did have toiletries but I liked bringing my own. I wish I had brought my own pillow but honestly less was WAY more.

Hospital mesh undies are fabulous... seriously. So comfy. The hospital provides a ton of things... if they don't... they have it and just ask.

I liked having my own things to supplement:

Thin, cotton front button sleepshirts (vs or h&m)
House slippers
Your fav toiletries (hospital ones crappy)
Favorite snacks (again, hospital crappy)
Big towel
Fav pillow
Someone you trust to help pamper you and make you feel/look normal after day 2. 
- blow dry hair, rub swollen feet, make up, lotion body, paint toes.... whatever helps you feel awake and normal again. ;)
Again, I stress having someone willing to bring you good food helps with feeling well and less icky.

Comfy pajamas. Maternity clothes to wear home. Slippers. Camera and charger. I used their mesh undies and pads. Toiletries.
