Endometriosis Laps

I was diagnosed with stage 3 endo when I was 14. I was put on a birth control and had no periods for a year and all my symptoms went away. But I was switched to another birth control so I had a period because it was healthier to have a period rather than not. So with this birth control the doctor told me it was supposed to help specifically with endo and it has for about 2 years. But within the past 6 months my periods have became unbearable again. So I'm just wondering if it might be time for another lap? And how long others have gone between laps.
