My psychology professor told us a few days ago that the earlier the pregnancy, the more likely that alcohol can cause defects and birth abnormalities. She told us it would be best to wait until we're later on in the pregnancy to even think about having a glass of wine this way everything is already developed in the baby and it can't be messed with. I don't think I could keep it down! Before the positive test I tried to have a glass and it made me so sick! My hubby totally didn't appreciate the nice glass of prosecco he has to finish for me! 😂

My sister sent me an article that shows one glass of wine a day is completely safe, but it's so scary considering we've always been taught zero alcohol whatsoever. I think I'll have a sip here and there but probably can't bring myself to have a full glass

Have you read "Expecting Better"?  If not, you might check it out--really helpful info.  Re: wine, she says only 1-2 glasses per week in the first trimester (1 per night in the second & third trimester).  But she also encourages you to drink slow w/water & food in between.  Don't chug like a frat boy 😉

What I've heard is that you can still have a small drink/glass of wine but I'm so scared about miscarriages that I haven't dared to. Oddly, there's always something contradictory to what we are and aren't supposed to do. I've also heard a lot of, ask your doctor, however, it depends on how conservative your doctor is. Well, that doesn't really help.

My cousin's wife had a few glassss during her pregnancy and her baby is fine. I won't but that's my opinion.
