doctor can't strip membranes :(

I'm 40+5 and my doctor has tried to strip my membranes every week with no success... she says I'm too far up and too closed up. 2 doctors tried today with zero success... and both agreed that there's no way I'll go into labor on my own, and that I'll have to be induced next week at 42 weeks :( feeling super discouraged. Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone else unable to be stripped?
