gender bloodwork

I'm getting bloodwork and an ultrasound done at my 12 week appt to check for Down syndrome and other conditions. My Dr. said insurance typically covers this since it falls under 'routine care'. My question is, will I also find out the gender with these results? Do I have to specifically request it or does it cost more?
