I thought it was only ok to have a baby shower for the first born?

Just because you have a shower doesn't mean you necessarily have to register. Every baby deserves to be celebrated!!! I know many moms who have a full shower and registry for their first born and then maybe only do a diaper shower for the next baby if it's the same gender.
You can have a party for every baby and just not register if you have what you need!

I think of a shower as a gift from someone else, so if they throw you one, heck yes, I don't care if it's your 1st kid or your 8th kid. Every baby is special and even if it's not about the gifts, I just like celebrating the whole idea.

I will do one for each (do not plan more than a second child) but I have said no gifts required fir the first and will do the same for the second.
 
I will not make a public registry for the second, and probably will not do the diaper raffle and so on.  Just a fun get together to celebrate with our friends and family.

My family only does one. My husbands culture does one for each kid. I think I will only have one baby shower (we arent finding out sex so gifts will be neutral) and then maybe have gender reveal dinners for the other kids. No gifts after the first though.

I didn't have a shower for my first born, so I had a shower for my second born. They were also 7.5 years apart.
