No more lovey dovey texts??? Advice please, sweet girls 💕

I've been dating this guy for 5 months but we've been talking for 9. We talk every day and I'm super into him. He's amazing, strange, handsome, funny, and exciting . But recently I was going through old text messages and in the old texts he would be like "I miss you sooo much. I like you so much. You're wonderful" etc. and I looked through recent texts and I haven't heard anything like that from him in a long time. I feel like it's way to early in the relationship to hit the "comfortable" stage where you stop being as lovey dovey. I'm still very much "cupcaking" if you will and always in a loving mood but I can't tell if I'm overthinking or what. We don't get to see each other often because of school but when I saw him last he was very sweet and excited to tell everyone who didn't know me that I was his girlfriend but I'm still just very curious as to why he doesn't talk to me the way he used to. At one point we spent a whole week alone together on vacation and when we had to go back to work/school he was really upset that he couldn't be with me every day but now he can go periods without seeing me and doesn't seem to be bothered. I understand he's very involved with school and so am I but it just seems odd to me. Does anyone think that guys tone down the lovey dovey stuff when they finally have you and they're no longer "courting" you? Anyone else ever experienced anything similar?
