Scared of a c-section?

Question

The thought of doing all natural labor doesn't scare me nearly as much as the thought of having to go through an emergency c section. I know the doctors know what they're doing, and I don't know why it scares me so much, but it does, it really does...has anyone else felt like this?

It's honestly not bad. My husband was able to be by my side and hold my hand. I didn't even realize they had started mine until I heard my baby. Recovery takes a little while and it's hard to stand up straight at first, but they give you pain relievers so it doesn't hurt too bad. I've been through a fair amount of painful things in my life, and my c-section was truly not a big deal comparatively.

Same here but I figured that if I needed a c section, in the moment they decided I needed one, I would be more scared for the baby than anything.

I ended up having a marvelous natural birth in water though.

FTM to be! I am preparing for either way! I'm scared of both! But I think natural delivery scares me more! I'm not sure why! The pain I guess! But I'm only 13 weeks so every day I feel blessed and whichever way I get to meet my baby and hold them in my arms will be perfect!

I understand the fear. I had an emergency section and it was the worst experience of my life. I have never been more frightened.

I'm the same as you. Not worried about the discomfort of natural birth, but horrified of having a c-section. Both for myself and for baby. I really want the experience emotionally and physically of vaginal delivery. Also I fear complications during the procedure and missing those early skin to skin moments. Then there's the healing...yikes. Obvi everyone is going to have a different experience, but those are my fears. 
How I'm trying to move past it is by keeping informed of all my options and becoming an advocate for me and baby. My husband is willing to stand up for us also in order to have a cs be the last resort. I've also been trying to envision the delivery exactly how I'd like it to go. Hope this helps! You're not alone!

YESSS! I was worried with all 3 that I may have to have one. I almost did with my third after almost 3 hours of pushing. I was beyond freaked out when my doctor said if she wasn't out in 30 minutes, I'd have to have one.

If you do have to have one here isnmy experience, I had one, the anethesiologist is super nice and comforting, she stayed with me the whole procedure (hubby went with baby). Everything was explained to me, and baby was waiting for me in the little recovery room so I could do the first feeding if I wanted
