dad who chose his new wife over his daughter

I just want to understand why a dad who "loves" his daughter so much would choose another family over his flesh and blood....?!?! Married a woman he knew his daughter and his wife didn't like each other. But who did he chose? The wife. The wife who made him choose her or the kids ... the wife who has always ALWAYS made everything about HER. I need help... I miss my dad everyday but I need him to feel some sort of regret... what do I do? Continue to ignore him or talk to him? He's put me through so much I'm not sure what to do.. I'm now 20 years old and he makes me feel like I'm nothing to him ... I've never been more depressed...
