Does it matter to you what someone is addicted to if they suffer from addiction?

all addictions are serious. however i think someone who is addicted to a serious drug or alcohol is in a more dire need of help than someone with a lesser addiction, like porn or something. both should get helped. the one who has the life threatening addiction should be helped first though.

Addiction is addiction.
On the other hand, a sugar addiction and heroin addiction are on two completely different levels. And there are many levels in between. 
The mindset of addiction is one thing and your DOC is another.

There's a difference between a drug/alcohol addiction and my Facebook/glow addiction. One costs money and ruins my body, the other is free and only effects my ability to hear my husband while I'm typing.

Some addictions kill your mind and body. Others may be harmful in other ways, but recovery will be better because you can actually recover. After you've done detriment to your brain, there's not much you can do to make it go back to how it was before. So yes.

I think there is a difference between being addicted to processed sugar and being addicted to prostitutes.

I think they're all bad, but they're different levels of bad. My mom was in meth, and now is a recovering addict, but I was a addict with cutting, also in recovery. Both are life threatening an dangerous. There are different levels. But I don't think people should judge what someone is addicted to, because to them, say something silly to most people, like shopping could be just as devastating as say something harder like drugs or alcohol. Everyone feels things differently.  So my cutting may feel like the most powerful thing in my life, but porn could feel that way to someone else.

Well I mean it just depends on the addiction. I think there's different levels of seriousness. Gaming addiction wouldn't be more serious to me than meth addiction

Yea some are more life threatening. Some change the person and can make them unpredictable and unsafe to be around. It really all depends. I'd be Worried for any drug addiction but some drugs are worse than others
