Is it the responsibility of a transgender celebrity to educate people on trans issues?

It's not their responsibility, but I'm so grateful to those that do. It's extremely hard to find accurate resources regarding trans people, as nearly all are written by cis people who often use the wrong terminology, use kind of insulting language and wording without realising, or are just blabbing about something they have no clue about and no experience in. Others are fearmongering and completely innacurate. So it's definitely great when actual trans people do educate others, but they aren't obligated to.

I wouldn't say it's their responsibility. I feel like people should be able to do as they please. 
I would think that most people would enjoy spreading awareness of what they are passionate about though. 
If I had a wide audience like that, I would take advantage of it and attempt to educate as many people as possible.

However, it's their life and privacy may be extremely important.

I'm not sure if I'd say it's their responsibility, because that almost feels like saying they have an obligation. However, I do think it's great when celebrities like Laverne Cox are willing to do so.

This makes me think of Caitlin Jenner and how she was a gung-ho Trump supporter until he infringed upon her rights with bathroom ban. Even tho hes sexist against the sex she identifies as. She shoulda done better.

NO. Just like it's not a POC's responsibility to educate non-POC. Are you grown? Yes? Then it's your responsibility to educate yourself.

It's not their responsibility, but if they cared a lick about their fans they would. I feel if trans celebrities don't share their struggles, it leaves room for people like Caitlyn Jenner to swoop in a "steal the spotlight" from the community.

Not to invalidate Caitlyn's struggle, I'm just saying if cisgender celebs can do it  so should trans, also I think it would help bring more awareness to the community in that your hearing a struggle first hand and not from a bunch of "sympathizers" that tend to misrepresent the community
