paula's choice acne treatment

So I tried using Paula's choice skin care extra strength for my acnes since (roughly) March 28th up until now. On the first week my skin was totally felt better because they're not so oily anymore! I used it 3 times a day and yeah there's still small pimples here and there (mostly on my jaw) but I read that it's normal for the first few weeks (plus I was having my period that time) but other than that my skin was cleaner than before. Then after the third week, I started too feel itchy around the area of my jaws and because i have the bad habit of scratching it and popping my pimples, I did exactly that. Aaaand that's how I got into this situation (pictured). The itches is only limited to my jaw area and everywhere else is fine. I tried to stop using it (stupidly, I couldn't really tell if the itches stopped but it's definitely lessened) but now the pimples are coming back to other than the jaw area (also I started ny period 4 days ago) but when I used it again the itchy feeling is back. I know this is stupid but... any of you guys know why this happened? Should I just stop? but I like the fact that my skin isn't that oily anymore 😭😭 (sorry if this disgusts you)
