14 weeks & spottig

I'm 14 weeks today, and expierencing spotting, I've had this on and off for a week or two. It first happened after sex and was really red, the doctor wasn't concerned because he linked it with an irritated cervix from intercourse. I haven't had sex since then, and I'm still spotting. It stopped for about 4 or 5 days then Saturday (4/22) it started spotting brown, and been on and off since then, today it's a light light red. It's only when I wipe. Is this a major concern? I called my doctors and waiting for a call back, it's not heavy. Has anybody expierenced this? Ideas?
