Crib and Pack n Play

We already have a crib and we were given a pack and play by my cousin, barely used. I went to put it together today and discovered it's stained, smells, and missing parts so I'm going to get rid of it. My question is, how essential is a pack and play if you already have a Crib? I know The travel of it is a big player. I've already picked a new one out but right before I purchased, changed my mind that maybe I don't need one??
