I would fight that! It not only protects your baby now but future pregnancies aswell! I've had 3 with different insurances and never had a problem.

Are you Rh negative?  If you are I would say that is absolutely a preventive measure. Most likely your baby is rh positive, which makes it a substantial threat to the health of your baby and future pregnancies.  Also do you have an "out of pocket" max with your Insurance? Might want to check on that and see how close you are to it, somtimes some things are worth fighting and others are nor
