How exactly are toxoplasims / toxoplasmosis spread ?

Question

I know by changing your cats litter but how contagious is it ? 
I have never changed our cats litter until now , i'm 33 weeks pregnant and 
I just scoop out the dry poop with the scooper , is this bad ? 
I do it because since our cat is an inside cat we don't want the house to smell . I do spray air freshener but I occasionally scoop out the poop will my baby be okay ? I'm scared of it affecting my baby

I change our cats (both indoor) box and wear gloves and mask just as an extra precaution. Just don't inhale it and wash your hands thoroughly after ... Studies show there's a higher risk of getting it from eating undercooked meat than taking out litter..

Basically eating cat poo. So just cover your face so your not breathing in the dust and wear gloves or wash your hands reallllllly well!!

It isn't carried by indoor cats. I still have hubby scoop the box but really I could do it. It's just a chance for me to get a vacation from it haha. But you'll be ok. Wash your hands well after to be on the safe side.

As long as you also each your hands really well and aren't inhaling it I think you should be ok. But I'm not a doctor but that just what I would think

Toxoplasmosis can not be contracted by inhaling it, you have to ingest it. Also your cats would have to be exposed to rodents or raw meat in order for them to get it so as long as they're strictly indoor cats you don't have to worry about it. Obviously hand washing is a must after litter changes but other than that you're ok. I cleaned the litter box the the whole time I was pregnant with my first and still do it now with my second with no problems.

You can also get it from soil...so wash all your veggies or peel them and wear gloves for gardening. You'll be absolutely fine so long as you wash your hands x

Yikes. I would ask someone else in the household to do this chore for you. Why risk it?
