Guy Problems

Hey girls 

Looking for some advice , apologies in advance for the long winded story.

Right first off me and this guy have known each other for a very long time probably going on 14 plus years (I'm currently 27 as is he) we have always got on really well, and I suppose I have always known he's liked me as more than a friend since we were 18/19.  As he's told me this before, anyway I have always liked him too but just never told him as I'm awful at handling my feelings and we never got together because of different things that happened over the years. 

We did however kiss one night years ago but nothing ever came of it cause we were young and stupid then.

Then on New Year's Day past I bumped into him when I was out with friends and obviously we got talking about us and me being awful about turning him down before and how I wish I hadn't , then over walks this girl who he was out with and made him leave so I just walked away.

Anyway we started messaging again last week and talking etc .. I said about being sorry for being such a bitch over the years and I really do like you ... and of course he said he still and always has liked me so much .. and wanted to take me out so obviously I said yes! 

But since then I only ever get messages from him every other day .. so now I'm confused about the whole situation?! He has a lot going on with his family at he moment so he may be a bit pre occupied ..but just don't know what I should do , should I just wait for him or what?
