Robin building nest near backyard patio?

Totally not what other women post on here but there's a robin building a nest along the fence in my backyard. It's like 4ft max away from our patio. Will the mama bird become defensive when she lays her eggs? Should I move the nest? It's quite peaceful to watch her but I don't want a problem later on.  TIA.

It should be fine, definitely don't move the nest cuz mommy will not like that! My parents house always has a Robin nest on top of a  deck light right outside the doors and we can still sit out there and it doesn't bother them and they come back every year :)

Don't move the nest, it will probably be fine. We have a robin on our deck, right next to our table. Momma bird is cool as a cucumber when we're out there, even though we're so close. She gets spooked and flies off occasionally, but she's never been aggressive.

We have had one above the light on our back deck for about 5 years now, every year there's a mama bird in it with her eggs. We just leave them be, when we come outside tho she always flys away until we go back inside. We look forward to it every year.

In the US it's illegal to disturb a bird nest unless it's house sparrows or starlings. They are invasive species and not protected under the migratory bird act. Robins are pretty docile too, it'll only take her about a month to hatch and raise her brood. Enjoy watching her and her little family!! 😊

Shouldn't be an issue. They arent really agrressive birds. She may make alot of noise if you go near the eggs or babies but that's about it. If you move the nest she'll abandon it and either start building a new one in the same spot or will move and build at a different spot.

Think in the UK theres a law to say you cant move a birds or animals nest sure i recall reading it somewhere but might be wrong

Never move a birds nest. I think the distance should be fine. She may get defensive but only if you walk right up close to the nest.

We have had robins and other birds nesting in our garden for years and have never once had a problem with aggression.

She may become defensive but don't move the  nest. If she does it doesn't last forever and they don't stay forever. But generally if you don't get too close she will leave you be.

No it's fine. Leave her alone and she'll avoid you until she is used to you. We have finches and sparrows that nest on our carport. They're skittish for a while then they know we're ok. I can usually even peek in the nest and they don't care.

Nah she won't bother u. We had one last year in our awning over out patio and we sat under there all the time and she didn't bother us at all.
