My husband and I have been TTC since the start of the year. We had 2 MC (early). Last Friday I found out my grandfather (whom I am very close to) has a glioblastoma (they are fatal brain tumors) and likely has month to maybe a year to live. I live across the country from my family and will spend 6 weeks with him and my family this summer, but I feel so conflicted. Should I continue to try for a baby during all of this? Will the sadness of my grandfathers illness take a toll on my pregnancy and the health of my baby? Will he feel sad that there is a member of the family he may not get to meet? What if he passes and I'm late in my pregnancy and can't travel to the funeral. My head is just swirling.
