what's with this new "bub, bubba" craze?

I'm starting to see this all the time now where did this come from?

I don't know but it's one of the many things that makes me cringe lol. When people say "little bub" I throw up a little. Also when grown women refer to me as "momma."

Don't know where you are from but here in  the South that's really nothing new. I grew up with an Uncle Bubba which Bubba is not his real name and I always called my brother bubba. Now that I am pregnant with number two it just comes natural for me to start calling him bub or bubba.

I've always called my son bubba and he is 5 lol its pretty common where I'm from.

My brother who's 37 was always called bubba and it's what we call my son too. The name has always 🐝 around in our family.

I grew up in IL and my brother was always called Bubba. He's now 23 and we still call him that occasionally. I think it's always been around, but maybe you pay attention more now because you're pregnant?

I'm from KS and sometimes l call younger boys bubba - my nephews for example. Not sure where it came from, just a nick name.
