I'm with your husband 😬 I have a huge problem with my husband buying things that are unnecessary. Personally for me, having an at home Doppler would make me more nervous. What if I can't find the heartbeat? What if it sounds strange? I'd much rather the doctor take care of it. But just buy it yourself if you want it.

Does anybody else get annoyed with their SO when they tell you that something you want is unnecessary and that you don't need it?! This is my first pregnancy and I've been wanting one of the heartbeat dopplers because I get really paranoid hearing the heartbeat once a month and he told me that he wasn't going to pay for it for me that he'd rather buy all this other stuff for a house we can't even move into yet!

I've never seen these for sale outside the States. It's not a necessary item and really only feeds the paranoia and anxiety of American pregnant ladies.

This! I worked with a midwife who carried a Doppler around in her purse, she let me use if a few times and I couldn't find a heartbeat. Ever. Every time resulted in me crying and running and having her come back and find it for me. It was not good for me to have one in my hands 😂

I had a similar argument with my husband. We are in the process of buying a house so we are pinching pennies like crazy. After he told me to wait a couple times I broke down in tears and explained why it was so important to me and he completely understood. I have anxiety and I've been lucky not to have a whole lot of pregnancy symptoms so I don't really feel pregnant, but I'm constantly anxious about how the baby is doing. Once I explained everything he understood. Maybe try explaining how important it is to you and why and he'll understand. Also, to be honest they aren't that expensive. The one I got was $50 but they have some for under $30 too.

The one I want is only $39.95 (I think lol can't remember for sure) I've explained it to him and he still tells me I don't need it.
I work so if I want something I'll mention it to my husband but I'm gonna get it reguardless. My husband and I both listen to our baby's heartbeat on the Doppler together every couple days though, he was the one that wanted that in the first place lol

I have really bad anxiety so being pregnant has just made it worse so I've been wanting one. I don't work because I'm about to graduate high school and no place around me wants to hire somebody that's pregnant (I can't hide my belly anymore) because they don't want to find somebody to temporarily
