What are they looking for and what goes on during the anatomy untrasound?

Answer

Essentially they are looking at the growth of the baby, to make sure that at growing at the rate that it should. They also focus a lot on all of the organs and make sure there are no cysts or calcificatiobs on any of them that could indicate certain defects. They make sure the brain is growing properly and that the certain structures are present, the heart is pumping blood well enough and as it should, that they have all fingers and toes, that there is two kidneys, the abdomen is the size it should be, that the orbital socket it present and that the ears are there and in the correct place as well.

They will check the umbilical cord and make sure it's pumping blood as it should, the placement of your placenta and if it's healthy, and also the length of your cervix to determine if you could go into preterm labor or not.

Also they will check the gender if your want to know.

How long is the scan in total mine is in a few weeks I'll be 15weeks this Wednesday.

They check everything. They look at the brain and making sure it growing properly. Looking at the kidneys, heart, hands, feet, toes, spine..... and so on. Literally every piece of your baby's body part.
