IUI, what was your experience?

Did you feel less stressed then timed intercourse? We have unexplained infertility . I'm seeing a new doctor this week so I'm going to suggest it. We have been trying for over two years. Conceived 6 years ago but I had the abortion pill. HSG and all other tests came back normal

I tried for three years with second infertility male factor. My husband became so stressed from the pressure to have sex that he literally couldn't do it anymore. We signed up for iui and instantly I felt less stressed. We had sex two days prior to the procedure and it wasn't stressful because my dr told him that we just to clean out the pipes and didn't matter. We hadn't had sex for weeks prior to that. I took letrizole cd 3-7 and I did ultrasound monitoring which to me was worth every penny! They can time everything exactly. My husband gave his sample the morning of and was so stressed out he almost couldn't do it. The nurses new this ahead of time and gave an extra hour. 
Then we had the procedure. It was so great! I felt so relaxed. Our odds were terrible. My husbands count was 2.5 mil. Most doctors won't even attempt iui with those numbers but my dr had faith and so did we. 
We tried to have sex the night we got home but  no success. Tried again the next night no luck. I told my husband just forget it. Don't worry about it. It's in Gods hands. Now I'm 7w6d pregnant. (Sorry for the novel)

We weren't given the option for timed intercourse but have done 2 IUIs and are on cd 5 of our third attempt. I felt less stress for sure but I think the BFN is harder to deal with... I think i just get my hopes up too much in addition to losing the money that we put in to the cycle. Do what feels more comfortable to you. If you feel an iui would stress you out too much then don't do it.
