When is the right time for the baby talk?

My SO and I talked about trying about a few months ago. Well we did for a week then decided to wait until I get a better job. His salary alone can afford it, we just want to be more comfortable and not feel tight, so since we know that we would be fine if it were to happen, I never went back on the pill. He just pulls out. Well now I'm in transition to starting a new job and I got baby fever. Should I talk to him now? Should I wait until I start the new job? When would be a good time. I honestly got this new job not only for me, but for Him and I as a pair, and for our future baby.
