Low firm cervix

Ok so this month i got my period a week early so i ovulated early i had unprotected sex the day after my egg was supposed to drop...the way my cervix feels is usually how it feels when af is coming . but i already had af this month .. Is this normal? Oh and i stopped using depo provera in mar2016. Its been about a year n some change... Has this ever happed to someone?
