5 or 9

So I had a first appointment today turns out it was just a Urine test and family history appt. didn't even see the doctor but she said based on the fact my period was only 2-3 days last month I'm most likely 9 weeks instead of 5 but can't see the dr till the 23rd.  It's so frustrating like I just want an answer as to how far along I am I've already gained 8lbs. Anyone else thought they had a period and it really wasn't ?
