Cloth diapers, how many will I need?

I'm looking into buying some cloth diapers but have no clue how many I'll need. I don't mind doing laundry everyday and am not opposed to using disposables now and then when I'm lazy😅.

We use Little Lamb and have 20 size 1 (up to 9kg) and 20 size 2 (9kg+). I also would say to use disposables for the first few weeks: we tried to make the switch at two weeks and it was too much too soon! Tried again at 5 weeks and have been going strong ever since. Our daughter is 9 weeks now and will use 6-9 nappies a day (EBF). I put the nappies on to wash overnight evey night, hang out to dry first thing in the morning, although if she keeps using only 6 a day I should be able to do every other day soon. We love our little routine :)

Avoid getting newborn ones (it's a $400 expense that can be bypassed. They grow out of new born to fast) I would recommend starting out with at least 60 diapers and inserts. You will be doing 10+ changes a day and doing the laundry more then every 3rd day is going to trek haveck on your mentality. 
60+ diapers will give you time in between washes rather then washing the same diapers every day. 
And if you think about...blowouts, heavy wets...you can use double to amount. 
Start with disposable ones for newborn-size 1 then get the one sizes fits all for the rest of your diapering needs.

My first cloth diaper should be coming in today and I'm so excited lol. For my twins I'm planning on around 40 total to see how it goes and getting more if needed. So 20 each baby washing ever other day if there's enough. You can wash every day but they are bound to get warn down from so much wear and tear and you might have to buy more down the road anyways. I'm trying Alva baby to see how they hold up, I've heard good things and they're only like $5-$6 ea

I'm still pregnant but I have 14 one size pocket diapers from various brands. My plan is to use them to see what works the best for us and supplement with disposables until I can order about 10 more of our favorites.

For the first six months I had 12 shells and 24 inserts...I could often change the inserts without needing to change the shells. I was washing diapers every other day and would sometimes run out...if I had the money at the time I would have bought a slightly larger stash. As an infant I think we would go through 12, sometimes more diaper changes a day! We are at two years now and I have added three all-in-ones and 12 boosters, and since my toddler goes less frequently than when she was an infant we still do laundry every other day but never run out of diapers.
