gestational diabetes

Hi, I recently found out I have gestational diabetes. This is my first pregnancy and I'm just wondering if anyone had a hard time getting it under control? Was your baby born healthy? Was pregnancy rough? Or did you have to have a c-section? Any info is helpful in just nervous
