When is it safe to take a newborn in public?

So I've heard tons of different answers. When is it safe or the best time to take your newborn into a public place like church?

I took my daughter out at 4 days. They have to build up some immunity and resistance to germs and stuff and if you wrap them up in cotton wool and don't let them out then they never gonna build up an immune system. Not saying take them to somewhere you know has germs on purpose just mean don't worry babys are stronger than you think!

I was told 3-4 weeks especially if it's a place like church where people will be touching baby a lot. I know people that have taken their baby out a little after a week but I'd rather wait a few weeks to be safe!

It just depends when you are ready. At 2 weeks, we took our daughter to a restaurant. She was covered up in her car seat. Then at a month, we took her out uncovered to meet friends and let them hold her. I've had friends that weren't ready until 2 months or later.

I took my little girl to church when she was 3 days old but that was because it was the Christmas Eve service and I didn't want to miss it. Just keep them covered up, most people are nice enough to stay away if they are feeling unwell at all. But exposure does help build their immunity system. So I would say do it when you're ready.
