Night three of sleep training
Our 6.5 months old daughter has always been an absolute worst sleeper ever. Between her reflux, colic, constant growth spurs/ leaps and teething, she's never slept anywhere else but our chests or the swing and never more than 1 hour at a time (yes, at night waking once an hour ). Needing to be walked, bounced and shushed constantly and only on our chests or swing.
Three nights ago we started the sleep training process.
We decided on the 5/10/15 minutes method.
First night was horrible.. cried and wailed for a total of 35 minutes combined. But slept for 5.5 hrs, fed 2 oz and passed out for another 5 hours.
Second night cried a total of 27 minutes combined. Slept 5 hrs, fed 3 oz, passed out for another 4.5 hrs.
Tonight is our third night at it. Cried a total of 17 minutes combined. Asleep for the last 3 hrs so far.
It's horrible to sit and watch the monitor, to listen to her wails, sobs, and to go in when the timer is up, but not pick her up.
But, it's getting progressively better and better. And we are finally giving her the sleep she needs, instead of up every hour and cluster feeding back to sleep.
We are very happy with the milestone and achievement thus far, and so early into the training.
I'm excited for the night that she will be laid in her crib and she will fall asleep with no crying and sleep a solid 8-10 hrs a night, without cluster feeding and without being held all night long.
