FTM: is it better to have an episiotomy done at delivery or not?

Episiotomies are archaic and antiquated. They take longer to heal and damage the pelvic floor far more than tearing.

I've always heard that it's better to tear than get an episiotomoty.

I tore naturally and healed perfectly.  I would discuss it with your doctor.  I told mine not to cut unless it was gonna be a very bad tear.  My tear was only about 1.5cm so not huge
