Am I overreacting?

I'm on my third girl and I love all my babies but I did have a hard time with the fact that this is my last baby and she wasn't a boy. My SIL just recently found out she's expecting (7 weeks) we were at a get together and someone made a comment to me about not being able to have boys and my SIL piped up and said "nope, that's my job!" She knows that I had a hard time with the fact that I don't have any boys. I just found it very insensitive, especially because she doesn't even know what she's having yet. Am I overreacting?

Well watch she ends up with a girl too, then you can laugh and say you had one job...just to joke back with her. If it bothers you that much then tell her to quit being insensitive towards you. It's not your fault you only have girls, the sex is passed on through the sperm. It's actually your husband that has only given you girls. But it's not a blame game. Children are gifts regardless of gender.

Yeah, you are overreacting - but thats normal. Its okay to be upset. She doesn't understand though because she hasn't been in your shoes, and you really can't expect her too. They were just making small talk, no biggie.
