So, my 9 year old wants to be in the room when I have her last sibling. She's very mature, but I'm not sold on this idea?

I'd let her, I don't see what harm it can do. I was in the room when my brother was born  and I was 10. I loved getting to be one of the first people to see the baby

To each his own, but I allowed my 7 year old in the room, and it went great. The entire pregnancy I kept her involved. We watched video's on conception, pregnancy, and child birth. She attended doctor visits, and all ultrasounds. I felt like she was ready,  and she did amazing.

Thank you ladies .. I appreciate the input. She really wants to. She's very attached to my belly already everyday feeling movements and kissing and talking to her baby sister, I just wouldn't want it to traumatize her..

Let her, it is an amazing experience I believe it will bring them closer. I was older but I got to help my sister be born, I was 15 tho but it created an unbreakable bond. Just make sure she know It can get bloody, you will be yelling and screaming prepare her... have her watch videos and what not. Don't let her go in blinded.

I personally would not do so. My teenagers wanted to go last baby and i asked how they would feel to watch me be in pain? I explained i would not be their mom first during labor and delivery but rather a woman in labor and i would not have the wherewithal to comfort them I'd be doing my job to safely deliver their sister....
They both decided the couldn't handle it....seeing me in pain

My 8 year old son wants to be in the room but my partner isn't comfortable with it. Its hard to say because it's a special moment and it can be educational but you're also feeling so vulnerable and irritable and it can be pretty gruesome

I say go for it! It is a great learning experience and a memory she will always have of being there when her sibling is born.

I think it's a wonderful idea! ❤️ my son will be 2 years old, and I wish he could be in there when we have this next baby. I imagine it can be a wonderful bonding experience for your daughter to have with you and the new baby. She will feel really included and apart of this important time for your family.

I could only think that it would be important though, to let her know what will be happening. Like you will be in pain while pushing, but you will be just fine. Somethings like that.

I'd let her! When I was about 9 my mom gave birth to my sister and she didn't want anyone in the room but oh boy I wish I could've been in there.

I'd let her in. If it becomes too much, have a backup plan for her - iPad with noise reduction headphones or someone who could sit with her in the waiting room. I held my cousin's leg when I was younger and loved being there when she was born. I think it could be great experience, especially if she's prepared, which it sounds like you're doing.
