ovulation when period is expected?!?

My first postpartum period started on April 8th. My period, if my cycle was back to normal, should start tomorrow, May 6th. I noticed quite a bit of egg white cm, which is not normal for me before my period starts. So I took an opk just to see what came up. It was nearly positive! I might have missed the surge by a day or I'll be getting my surge tomorrow! Is this odd? Ovulating nearly a month after my period? I know cycles can be wonky while breastfeeding but this seems so strange to me. My nursling is 14 months. DH and I BD'd so hopefully we'll catch the egg!
