First Ultrasound Won't be until 14 Weeks?

Question

so i found out i was pregnant when I was around 6 weeks, so late only because I usually have irregular periods due to me stressing myself out and I wasn't worried. I went to my regular doctor and had blood work done and what not. Today I am 10w5d and I won't have my first OB appointment until May 31st and by then I'll be 14 weeks. I've read posts where women were getting ultrasounds and everything way earlier than me and I was just wondering if it's normal to not see an OB until 14 weeks? This is my first pregnancy and I'm having all types of emotions about it. I just want to know that everything is okay. I don't really have the support from my family so i don't really have people to talk to about this..

My first appointment was 14 weeks and my first ultrasound was at 17 weeks. A lot of people that get them done early have had problems getting pregnant, had miscarriages/ectopic, or in some way have a high risk pregnancy. I had two miscarriages and I still had to wait until 17 weeks. Drs don't really do early ultrasounds unless necessary

It just depends on the doctor, they all do things differently. My first appointment/ultrasound was at 8 weeks - most doctors make the first appointment at 8-12 weeks so 14 isn't too far off

Depends on doctor and insurance. I always got ultrasounds with my kids the same week or a week later after a positive pregnancy test.   I know my cousin has a different doctor and didnt get a sonogram until around 12 weeks

When I found out I was pregnant, I called several offices and no one wanted to see me until 9-12 weeks. I had read in some other thread that you can request an earlier appointment if you have concerns of miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy (which, naturally, i did, you know, first pregnancy since miscarriage). So I called an office and asked them to see me earlier bc I was having pain on my side and was concerned about ectopic. They agreed to see me at 5 weeks. Find a doctor that will actually listen to your concerns. These offices see pregnancies so often that I feel like they generalize "normalness in pregnancy" without even seeing the patient. Good luck, and try not to stress too much. I read it can affect the growing embryo.

It depends on the doctor. Me and my sister are both pregnant and go to the same doctor they wouldn't see her til after 8 weeks but saw me at 5 because I've previously had surgery for cysts on my ovaries and even so they tried to talk her into just waiting until she was around 11 weeks.

I found out I was pregnant at 12 weeks and my doctor didn't give me an ultrasound until 20 weeks for the anatomy/gender ... that's the ONLY ultrasound I got my whole pregnancy. It absolutely sucked.

That seems a bit late..I don't know how ' normal' pregnancies are though! I've been high risk with mine so start ultrasounds basically as soon as the stick dries..
If your worried call you Dr and let them know. Every Dr is different so I'm sure whenever they have you coming is the timeline in that office.
