There's no evidence to support that the active chemicals in marijuana can harm a developing fetus. The most harmful part is the smoke you're breathing in, which can be avoided by making edibles or vaporizing your herb or hash or oil. It's actually a very small amount of smoke if you do smoke it, about the same as sitting by a campfire, especially if you avoid smoking papers and wraps (like joints or blunts). Yes, there are risks, but none as scary as the risks associated with alternatives to marijuana (harsh and harmful medications for things like nausea, depression and anxiety, that are known to cause birth defects and be harmful but medical professionals still prescribe them because they get kickbacks from big pharma AND there has been more research done on the pills, unfortunately).

No, I'll wait until after birth. To me there hasn't been enough research either way, unfortunately, to make it worth my while. I wish they could do research, at least with edibles, because smoke inhalation of any kind is damaging. Who knows, maybe it'd be safer than some other meds currently prescribed during pregnancy. Luckily I don't have bad enough symptoms to make me even consider it, but I try not to judge, well at least in some situations.

I used a vaporizer till I was 20 weeks to treat my HG.. it was the only thing that could help me eat and live a semi normal life.. I lost my job and was about to have to be hooked to an IV with a zofran drip.. the nausea lessened around 20 weeks so I was able to stop medicating then around 28 weeks I was able to stop the diclegis as well.. still have days of vomiting and wake up nauseous most days but it's much less . Marijuana was a life saver and I'll probably use it again to treat my depression after baby is born.

Smoke is smoke, regardless of if it's tobacco or marijuana. It is still cutting off the baby's oxygen supply. Just don't do it, can you not hold off for 9 months?! 🙄
