Scientists/doctors will figure out the cause(s) of autism and it's increasing prevalence?

I wouldn't say there's an increasing prevalence. I would say there is an increasing awareness

I have no idea, but I don't think I would like my baby brother if he's wasn't autistic. He's very kind and sweet and hilarious and a mystery child. I love him to death. If he were not special needs I think he would be a typical teenage boy and be a big fat jerk! Lol

Definitely "causes" as opposed to "cause". I think it will be very difficult to figure out for that reason. An illness caused by one single thing is easy to figure out. An illness caused by multiple factors both genetic and environmental is much more difficult to track down. Whoever said it is like cancer in terms of figuring out what causes it had it right. I think there are multiple genetic factors for each. Also an environmental factor that leads to cancer in one person could lead to autism in another and diabetes in yet another all due to a predisposition to different things in their genetics being exacerbated by the same thing. 
So to answer your question it's possible in our lifetime but more likely it'll be after I'm dead. I think finding the answers will go hand in hand with giving individualized medical treatment based on genetic makeup

I saw on the news not long ago that 1 in 2 children in america will have autism in a few years. So, i think they'll figure it out soon.

They speculate what the cause is and change ideas constantly. The cause of other disabilities aren't known either. ADHD, schizophrenia, more. Unfortunately I don't think the cause will be found anytime soon.

Forever a mystery, just like cancer they "crack on to it" and then abandon the idea in a few months after a few tests.
