Contractions or Braxton Hicks?

I've read many posts asking this but I'm still not sure..

Trying to determine if I need to get checked out. I'm 26+5. I was in a little bit of a fender bender last night, I guess you could say. I thought I was taking my turn wide enough but ended up hitting/running up over a curb. I didn't feel like I hit my abdomen on the steering wheel or anything. Doctor said to only get checked if I was bleeding, baby wasn't moving or if I was having contractions. I've been kind of monitoring all night (work night shift) and I was just slightly crampy and what felt like Braxton Hicks feeling to me (random tightening here and there). I've been drinking water and trying to just relax (home-care nurse so I can just sit a relax other than monitoring my client). This morning I've been feeling some discomfort with the tightening and it's happening more than it was last night and earlier this morning. And I'm still crampy when I feel the tightening and discomfort. I haven't really timed this. Should I be timing to see if there's truly a pattern? Does this just sound like Braxton Hicks or could it be contractions? Should I go get checked anyway since I had the little "accident" last night and now I'm feeling like this?
