Feel bad

Kimberly
So I'm 24weeks pregnant and I haven't seen a doctor yet... Outside of when I was 7 weeks and then when I went to emergency room and was like 17 weeks....I haven't had any testing or blood work or ultrasounds! I feel like I'm doing this pregnancy wrong with my other 3 I was at every doctor's appointment.....I do feel my lil Prince kicking away everyday.... Which gives me some comfort.... But (, don't judge me) I been smoking cigs cause I been very stressed out....I go back to my hometown where I have my insurance in about 2 weeks....I don't want anything wrong with my baby... I'm just scared and nerves!!! Need to vent and get this off my chest! 😞😢😢💙👣👶

Kick the cigs stat!!  Next make an apt to get seen since usually around 20 weeks they need to do a growth scan and all that.

Don't listen to these other ladies ! I was stressed a couple weeks ago and I smoked because that's what I did for the first month and a week +two days being pregnant. If you're not chain smoking and you haven't been the whole pregnancy, you'll be just fine ! I've disgust this with my home nurse and along with the nurses at my prenatal classes . I know it's not healthy etc but just limit your smoking and make those appointments as soon as possible ! It's very important. For everyone else , how are we suppose to confide in a group of pregnant mom or moms already if all you do is judge ? Been seeing this a lot in my mommy groups everywhere . We are in 2017!!! Wake up.

You should feel bad.  I have not one ounce of sympathy for anyone who smokes during pregnancy.  I have a friend whose trashy ex-wife smoked during her pregnancy and the baby was born with serious heart problems.  She's turning 8 and has had countless surgeries and currently has a pacemaker.  So yeah.  Quit smoking and go see a doctor.  Get your priorities straight.

Ok talk about me like I can't see what you're saying. You don't like it? Fine. Why don't you change your behavior if you feel so bad?

If you don't want to be judged then you shouldn't have mentioned the smoking. Seems like you know it's bad for you but you're doing it anyway...How come you are not home where your doctors are? Maybe that would help us understand the situation better. Is there a free clinic you can go to for an appointment until you're home?

You're welcome! I'm sure you already know, but try to stay as least stressed as possible since stress isn't good for the baby. I hope you're able to see a doctor soon and that you're little one is healthy. Good luck!

I see. I have Medicaid in IL. If I were you I'd call the number on your card and see if they can help you find a doctor for you to see there before you go back

My last I did a first prenatal then left for the summer due to financial issues didn't have insurance but was trying to get it. I ended up leaving there because it wasn't a good living situation. Started doing the process of getting Medicaid again didn't get seen till 26 wks had my anatomy at 29 wks. Had a healthy baby boy.

I would start applying for Medicaid so you can get in to see a doctor where you are. If it's your finances that are the reason you can't go back home, then Medicaid is perfect for you. They'll get you on a plan in less than a month. Otherwise I would ask someone to bring you home for a couple days to see a doctor just so you can get your scan done. It has to be done.
