Baby Shower-yes or no?

Question

Did anyone have a baby shower for their 2nd and/or 3rd child? Not sure what the etiquette is for baby showers after the 1st pregnancy. Also, if you did have a baby shower for each pregnancy, were the children same or different genders? TIA!

I had a baby shower for all three!! Each new life deserves a celebration as far as I'm concerned. I made a registry each time and made sure to tell guests that presents were welcomed but not expected or required.

I've only ever heard of having a baby shower for your first baby. It seems greedy to me to have one for a second or third unless they are really far apart in age

I was told you do a shower for the first ( all the big stuff) and a sprinkle for the younger ones (diapers, wipes and the like).

I had 2 showers for the first (one at work and one for friends and family). With the second we planned on doing a sprinkle with friends and family, but I had a bunch of complications and was on and off bedrest so we didn't do anything.  I ended up finding out about my work sprinkle when they called me at home so I could attend virtually since I was put on bedrest 2 days before they'd planned it.😅. Trying to follow a social event over the phone is the weirdest thing ever, but it was super sweet of them.

I'd love to do a PJ sprinkle for this one with friends and family. Something comfy and cozy😜

My son is 6. I'm pregnant with my 2nd. Just had my baby shower at 36 weeks. It was lovely 😊

I never got one for my first but my Dad threw me one for my second, both boys. Then nothing for my third who's a girl. 
This is our fourth and a boy, I know we won't get a shower but we did a gender reveal party.

I had one for all three and they were all the same gender.  I didn't plan to have them but friends insisted I did.  The last one was really small and more like a diaper shower.

I think it depends on what you're having, or if they're very far apart. If your first is a girl and your second is a boy, it's normal to have one for each. If you have 3 boys, I wouldn't think it's necessary unless they are far apart. If you're having twins I think it's good because you need different/extra stuff. That being said, I would never have s baby shower that I threw for myself. Someone else has to do it like your mom or  sister or good friend. Otherwise I would feel like I was being greedy inviting people to give me stuff. If it's someone else's idea, it's not selfish. Even if that meant I didn't get a baby shower, I'd be ok with that since no one decided to have this baby but me and my husband. No ne else is responsible for caring for them, so i wouldn't expect anything from anyone.

I had one each for my previous two (girl and boy) and they were 18 months apart ...8 years later ... this pregnancy I'm having a meet and greet when bubba gets here 😊😊
