failed at breastfeeding

Okay so I had my daughter feb 2016. I failed miserably at breastfeeding. I had a rough delivery so I had to wait a while until she ate. She latched okay and went to sleep. Well after that she was constantly hungry and I made zero colostrum or milk. The nurse said she was too hungry and needed a bottle. I was perfectly okay with that!!  But when she would feed it literally felt like someone was ripping my nipple off. She would get so mad because I never made milk. It never felt better and hunks of my nipple was coming off. I have never hurt so bad. I dealt with it for 1 month and then went to formula. She wasn't tongue tied. They just said she had an awful latch. But what can I do this time to help me and the baby!? Help me ladies!!!
