Too close with my vibrator?

Can using a vibrator too often effect your ability to orgasm during sex? I spent a period of about 2 years mostly single and I've gotten very close with my vibrator. My now boyfriend is GREAT in bed (like the best) so it's not that he doesnt know what he's doing and it's always been difficult for me to get off naturally in the first place. If I stopped using a vibrator would it help?

It won't change your ability to orgasm or enjoy sex BUT masturbating in the same way for long period of time can make it more difficult to orgasm from other types of stimulation. This isn't a permanent thing - you just have keep using those types of stimulation (and cut down on the old type) and eventually it will become easier and you won't have that barrier anymore.

So as an example - if you use only a vibrator to get off for many months or years then you will likely have a difficult time getting off (if you can st all) from sex or other types of masturbation (like a shower head or pillow humping). But if you were to cut down or stop using the vibrator and switch to something else - you may have trouble getting off for awhile but with persistence that difficulty will fade.

That's 💯 untrue 😂 It's two totally different things. I once had someone suggest you could wear out your orgasm by masturbating with a vibrator. I'm 40...that's just not true. It works just fine when everyone is doing what they're supposed to 😜

It could be that you know the spots to hit with the toy and it's hard to explain that to a partner.  As uncomfortable as I was with it, I let my husband watch me with my toy when we started dating so he could see what I do.  I'm a very boring player, nothing like the pornos where the women are moving around looking like they're having fits 😂. I starfish, I need a dark room and for a consistent rhythm and speed to be able to finish.  I was single for five years before we met and was never comfortable with the sexual partners in that time to relax and finish.  After a few months of practice he was finally able to get me over the line orally, but even now it still takes 10-15 minutes because it's all in my head.  I find it hard to zone out when I have company.

My husband and i use my vibrator during sex as i cant get there otherwise. Its not that hes not good (hes actually great) but i never orgasmed before i met him and i can only orgasm a little help. Hes happy that he can atleast do something for me and im happy because i know he loves it.
