Do we respect the deceased more than the living?

After reading the organ donor topic, it got me thinking about respect.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I understand, you cannot perform an organ transplant without the prior consent from the donor.

However, even though I'm pro-vax, we can restrict education to unvaccinated children, restrict jobs & welfare to those who use marijuana recreationally, and there are laws to protect the potential life of a fetus even if it causes danger to the woman who carries that fetus.

What I'm trying to say is, do you thibj that to a certain extent, the government can control what people do with/put into their bodies, but the minute it comes to the deceased, it crosses lines?

You should look into the organ harvesting business, there's some evil sides to it. You don't even have to be dead, just "brain dead" and there's evidence that these patients are still conscious of their surroundings and what's happening to them. Also, the hospital makes a big profit off of it and practically robs the patients receiving the organ while the family of the deceased aren't given a cent. Not saying they should, but the cost of transplants is just absurd. So no, I'm not cool with the gov. saying they can take my organs just because I'm not able to stop them.

I don't think there's a restriction of education of unvaccinated children. At least not here. We just don't allow them to be enrolled in public schools and daycares. I think the greater good is more important than someone's right to decide. That being said, they're still given a choice. Vaccinate or choose alternative ways of education and babysitting. 
Anyways, moving on to the actual topic, in some ways there is more respect for the dead when taking from them. However, next of kin has the right to decline organ donation even if the deceased wanted it. I also believe they have the right to decide what is done with the body even if said dead person has already decided. Like next of kin can decide to cremate over doing a burial.

People are advised not to speak ill of the dead to the degree that someone could be mocked, lambasted, treated like shit by everyone and anyone, etc while alive but the moment they're a corpse everyone puts on an act.

We see it all the time.

Suddenly the dead person was wonderful. Suddenly they were beautiful (but just last week, the media was mocking them). Suddenly everyone loved them so much. Suddenly the world is their best friend.

I think that really says everything which needs to be said. People love the dead once they're dead but while they were alive, people really don't care less.
