Can I go camping pregnant?

I really want to go camping in The beginning of June. I will be 31-32 weeks along. It's something I've done every year since I was a kid and I was told it's a no-go with a baby.... :( What do you all think?

In getting a double top queen air mattress but absolutely. We camp every summer and hike a lot. I might tone it down on the hikes, and probably not wear my daughter but camping.... Heck Ya! We tent camp btw.

Go for it! If you are that concerned, you can always talk to your doctor prior to going, just to make sure everything is ok with baby. Otherwise, there is no reason not to go!

As long as you have an emergency plan made out and are aware of your campsite location, instructions how to get there if emergency services are needed and are aware of the closest emergency facility (equipt to handle babies) I think that you should be fine. I'm from rural Saskatchewan and my home town is 2.5 hours (like lots of the province) from the city and woman have babies everyday....

I'm going to the Smokey Mountains for Memorial weekend and camping in a tent. No electricity except in the bathrooms. 
I'd say go for it, just know where a hospital is if needed. But have fun! It'll be good for you and the baby! I'll be less than 3 months from due date.

Why would anyone tell you no? What were their reasons? You may be a little uncomfortable but other than that I see no reason why not!

Of course you can! I plan on doing a lot of camping once the mountains warm up

Only reason I could think of would be if you are hours away from a hospital and way out in the wilderness... If you would go into early labor.

I went camping a couple of weeks ago... I was fine, I just noticed that the campfire made me extremely nauseous so I had to make sure to stay a good distance away. But you absolutely can go camping!

I've thought about doing it this summer too, but I'll be further along (it's too cold to go camping until July here, so I'll be about 36 weeks or so). Since I'll be so far along, I'm thinking I'll go to a campground nearby, so we'll still be able to go to our hospital. Talk to your doc closer to when you want to go, make sure there are no signs of early labor, and make sure you'll be comfortable out there! ☺
