Valerian Root during Pregnancy?

My boyfriend bought me de-caffinated herbal coffee that actually helps you sleep; that ingredient being valerian root. I've read mixed reviews about whether its ok to take during pregnancy. Thoughts/experiences? Thanks ladies!
