can baby moving cause gas?

I'm 18 weeks pregnant and sure I can feel the baby moving about 3 times a day but nearly every time straight after I pass gas! It's been happening for about a week. Is it the baby moving causing it or is it just gas all along?! Thanks

No the baby moving isn't causing gas. You are feeling the gas move along your bowels before you fart.

At the moment that's just gas! 😊
Later on in pregnancy your baby will be so big, sometimes he will get in the way of gas moving and once he moves your gas bubbles will pass.
But at 18w, he's not big enough to affect your gas or bowels yet!!
Congrats on your baby (and your ability to easily pass gas, I'm jealous here at 36w lol)

That sounds exactly like me!! It feels very similar, gas bubbles and those first baby movements. The only way I could differentiate was to see if I passed gas within a minute or two after the 'movement'. haha That was right around 16/17 weeks. Now at 20 weeks there is no mistaking it. xo
